Intercultural Relations is a registered non-profit organisation that has been committed to intercultural exchange and development cooperation since 2020. Our aim is to build bridges between different cultures through projects and programmes and to promote a deeper understanding of each other.
Our members include committed individuals from different professional backgrounds who are committed to social justice and intercultural understanding. We work together on projects for the ‘One World’. Our focus is on German-Namibian international understanding. Get to know the dedicated professionals behind our intercultural projects and initiatives:
Joachim is a former head of department in the NRW Ministry of Education; at that time responsible for secondary schools, European schools and UNESCO schools; developed an enthusiasm for projects with other nations; now mainly focussed on Namibia.
Kapenda has been involved in partnership projects on the Namibian side for many years and is currently training as a farmer in Germany. He is passionate about learning languages and writes prose in his spare time.
Torben is Managing Director of ‘Kinderschutzbund Münster e.V.’. He previously studied social work and was Managing Director and responsible for international development aid projects at ‘Skate-aid e.V.’ until 2021.
Anastasija designs our corporate identity with a keen eye for detail and from a human-geographical perspective. Her passion for design and creative expertise enables us to develop a strong brand identity that reflects our vision and values.
As a trained carpenter and project designer since 2009, Tobi's aim is to support ‘helping people to help themselves’ through his professional experience and to discover great people and new cultures in the process.
Lucas works in a production company and is a passionate film maker. He is behind the camera on most of our film productions and does the post-production.
Hendrik is studying Geography at the LMU Munich and is a kulturweit alumni. As a trained UNESCO Teamer for Global Citizenship Education, he is responsible for running seminars for the organisation's exchange programmes. He also acts as an interface to the board, leads the team for media projects/public presence and is involved in the organisation's strategic planning.
Christoph is a former teacher. Thanks to many years of student exchange programmes, he is responsible for the intensive connections to Namibia. With his hands-on attitude, Christoph pulls out all the stops to constantly develop the organisation and initiate new partnerships and projects.
Adolf is the first point of contact for all projects in Namibia. Adolf worked as a teacher in Katutura, Windhoek until 2023. Thanks to his good network in Namibia and his great passion for intercultural work, we have already been able to implement numerous projects in Namibia with our partner association.
Olivia is studying for a Master's degree in International Health & Social Management at MCI Innsbruck and already majored in international development as part of her first degree in Geography at the University of Vienna. She is significantly involved in the implementation of the preparatory seminars for the association's exchange projects.
Ulrike is deputy chairwoman of the association, and as a coach and seminar leader, she sees herself as a bridge builder and values ambassador. She is a Brain Trust trainer, co-author and speaker. Sustainability for a value-orientated future is her top priority.
Gottlieb is responsible for all administrative matters in our partner association and always keeps an overview.
Tina is responsible for the ‘backend’ development of the website. She is currently in training.
Leonhard supports the association in the planning and realisation of media projects. He has been studying computer science at RWTH Aachen University since 2021. He is also on the board of the ‘Neve Hanna Kinderhilfe e.V.’ association
Claudia is the former federal coordinator of the UNESCO project schools in Germany and is now passionately committed to the exchange of young people of German and Namibian origin in educational projects.
